Email capability from scanner to router to computer

I am having trouble getting my Ricoh printer/scanner to communicate with the pc. It does not loop back completely without a "check the configuration network." I am not certain if the path is not right or I may be doing something else. I need to get the email function to work with my computer. I am using static ip address to communicate with the devices.

I am getting error message. Connection has failed. Check the setting and check the scan file status. What does this mean?
