email retention on Android Device

Have an android 4.1.1 device with some email apps such as Outlook, Google, etc. Have not found a way to read email without a Wifi connection. This phone has no cellular contract. If there is no way to keep email content offline is there a way to make the text of an email a document that can be kept on the device for later reading? Guidance sought.

Copy & paste if your android device supports it. However, you will need at least a basic word processor app on the device to paste the text in to, your device may already have such an app or you can obtain one from Google Play.
