Hello,
When I had windows xp I would just hit the little heart icon to send something. I don't know how to send anything with windows 7. Help.

What little heart icon lol, what program were you using to send emails

Win 7 does NOT have an email client.
For email One of the Following:
(1) Download and install Windows Live What uSoft is pushing - NOT for Me
(2) Move to 3rd party email client such as Thunderbird (Just goole " window 7 email)
(3) You can MOVE (not iinstal) vista winmail - Easy but not for the faint of Heart. This is what I did for Wife's system.
(4) Use Outlook (not Outlook express) from Microsoft Office, Not encluded in low end versions. This is what I did for My win 7.
