I recently purchased the Logitech z-5500, and I already have an e-Mu 1212m soundcard.

What would be the best way to connect the two together to achieve best sound quality? Spdif? I'm not sure about the connections that the z5500 offers; both have multiple outputs/inputs.

I'll try to restate the question:

I'm having trouble connecting the 1212m to my Logitech z5500 via an analog connection, in order to get surround sound. I have temporarily been connecting the two via an optical cable, but because the 1212m has a better DAC, I am trying to connect it via an analog connection.

The only analog connection the z5500 offers is 6 channel direct. There are three 3.5mm mini jack plugs on the Logitech speakers: 1) Left and Right Front, 2) Center & Subwoofer, & 3) Left and Right Rear. The speakers came with the 1/8 inch cable, and I have bought 3 1/4 inch adapters for the Emu. The 1212m manual stated vaguely how it could be done, but I am having trouble. Help would be very very much appreciated!
