Question Enabling XMP on an AMD board ?

I get random (every few hours/days) display message "No HDMI signal coming from your device" and Bios completely resets (ram returns to 2133mhz, clock to 00:00) after using XMP for some time, sometime it doesn't happen at all, sometimes happens after few hours of use.

Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite v2
Processor: Ryzen 7 5700x
Graphic Card: AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT 8GB Vram
Corsair Vengeance LPX 32Gb (2x16gb) 3200 mhz CL16
PSU: Cooler Master Elite v3 600w

Maybe XMP is not intended for use on AMD?

Try setting the ram to 2933Mhz in the bios

But ram memory is 3200mhz intended, i'm losing some performance that way? And what will lowering mhz help with, can i try using EasyTune? Sorry for asking i just want to learn.
Maybe the memory isn't stable at 3200Mhz. Do it just for testing purposes. You can always change it back. You could increase the voltage to the memory instead of reducing its frequency to try to improve stability.

XMP is an intel spec, the equivalent for ryzen is EXPO.
They are short hand ways to extract specs of speed, cas and voltage embedded in the ram sticks themselves.

Is your ram a single kit of 2 x 16gb?
If not, it may not work properly.
You should be able to specify the detailed ram specs manually in the bios.
Things may work better if you increase the ram voltage a bit above the nominal spec.

My ram is 2x16gb, i got display loss again, and RED LED light constantly being on on DRAM. This could mean that my ram memory is not compatible with my motherboard, since it's not on official listing on gigabyte website? But then, how did my previous RAM memory cause same issue with display turning off, i had Kingston HyperX Fury 4x4gb 2666mhz. Could it be motherboard after all?

Yes, 2x16gb from same kit that i bought

Proper bios level?

Ryzen is picky about ram.
See if there is a motherboard bios update relating to ram compatibility.
Verify that your ram is mounted in the two slots that your motherboard manual recommends.
See that the sticks are pushed down evenly to get seated properly.
It takes more force than you might think.
Best to buy a kit explicitly supported by your motherboard and cpu combo.
Failing that, check to see that the ram is explicitly supported by the ram vendor for your cpu/mobo combo.

Hey there.

Are you OC'ing the CPU?

What bios are you running?

It seems like corasir vengeance that i use is very tricky for using with amd, i read that some people had issue with stability... But then could previous and this ram that i have now cause same symptom of display turning off and bios reseting? Maybe thats how my gigabyte motherboard manifests instability.

Probably just the RAM, Vengeance is nothing but trouble on AM4. Give it another .05v over spec (so set 1.4v if the sticks say 1.35v, for example) and see if it behaves. If not, replace the kit, ideally with something other than Corsair. As Roland said, your BIOS is not current, so that should be updated as well.

I made mistake, it's current F66b

There are 4 newer versions of your bios. With each new AGESA, the bios will bring compatibility, specially for memory.

Make sure to clear CMOS afterwards, then test again. The newest one is F66b

I've Corsair Vengeance in my rig. Never an issue with it.
I have F66b too, my mistake.

XMP is an Intel tech introduction to automatically set DRAM to intended data rates over and above a base level (for DDR3 it applies to DRAM 1600 and up), DDR4 for DRAM 2400 and up. You enable the feature, it reads the profile off the DRAM sticks and applies it in BIOS.

DOCP (Direct Over Clock Profile), is from ASUS for AMD motherboards and came as the motherboard makers didn't want to pay royalties to Intel to implement XMP on AMD motherboards. It effectively uses the DRAM XMP profile to set up data rates and comparative timings on the AMD motherboards for a variety of data rates.
