Hi, first of all, my apologies if this is in the wrong section (i think it is) but I cant find a relevant place to put it.

I have a computer desk, it has a dedicated cupboard for PC towers with an open front and quite s large rectangular whole on the back right, for airflow im assuming. Since I plan to actually use it, I need to fimd a PC that matches the dimensions of the cupboard, this is causing me a bit of pain atm, although I do have 3-4 cases picked out. My question is, how much space, if any, should I leave inside the cupboard but AROUND the case because some cases I have looked at are fine for height and width, but would potrude an inch or two outside the cupboard even when pushed right back as it will go.

These arent the actual dimensions but lets just say its H400 W200 D400mm, how much room would I need for air to flow arpund the case?

As long as there are no fans on the top or sides venting or grabbing air, all of the airflow should occur inside the case. I'm guessing the cases you're looking at have intakes on the front and an exhaust on the back that aligns with the hole in your desk?

Any distance between the desk and the sides/top should be fine with this airflow configuration.
