Entering password takes me straight to log-off and password re-entry.

Yesterday I was doing a clean up with Ccleaner etc and in my haste I did not take note of what I was clicking. Spybot Search and Destroy flashed up and I clicked to allow, or not allow as the case may be, to do something to, from what I can remember, 'WLON' or something similarly named.

In any case, what happens now is that I fire up the computer, enter my password, the desktop briefly flashes up for a split second(no icons) and then it immediately logs off and goes to password entry again.

Can't seem to get around it and don't know what to do.
Any help please.

I tried all sorts of things; Safe Mode, Last Good Config and also logging in as Administrator but it always goes back to password again.

Is there another means of salvaging the data off the hard disk?

I have the same exact problem after performing a windows xp home repair reinstall. Did you ever find a solution? Does anyone out there have a fix? Thanks in advance!

Hi guys I recently had exactly the same thing happen to me. I got somebody out to look at my pc and was told it was a virus called WUupdater which had corrupted a whole bunch of systems files and ended up having to format the drive and re instal 🙁

The repair man that came out recovered the data from the drive.
