Even more amazing is how crappy is image viewing on thg site. Is it like that on purpose, to get more clicks?

Yeah just like the rating system has been disabled so that the SPAM comments don't instantly get rated down to -4 and dissapear!
Tom's is making money off the spammers without us realizing...

What other excuse is there for the broken rating system? it works in the forums, not in the news articles....

I wonder why the CryEngine 3 tech demo hasn't been posted on any website except for gametrailers, that one looked stunning and way better than any crysis 2 video they have shown.
 
not mindblowing to me this is whot dx11 is all about and when this form of dx 11 is rdy to shipp ima getting me a hig end dx 11 card. whot is interesting tho is how much this will take to get running smooth unreal is one of my top engiens for grapics in the world, so i think its not gonna be to bloody power hungry eather.

the game is sadly already out on torrent. hope they whont rage like last time on pc. beside whot i haw tested its nothing special in the grapics department crysis 1 is still way more compelling. and the game play is alot more leanier no real open world. but stearing and controling in the fps is way better and its not as power hungry seens all the physics of the plants is gone.

What sucks... No gears of War 2, 3 or 4 for PC.
UT3 sucked balls because of BAD level design (5 playable maps out of 33) and disabled the ability ZOOM in/out of your vehicles like in UT2004 - which may game play UNFUN. Empty servers for a 2 year old game.
 
Nice to see some dev who actually bother using what DX11 have been providing for some time now - Pretty much a feast in graphic possibility's yet underutilized due to lack of hardware (mostly consoles fault especially the old dx9 based xbox 360 that should be replaced by a DX11 capable one if MS truly cares about the future of gaming).

But yeah it always holds true - Pc always pushes the gfx to the next level and then the budget options follows in due time!
 
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Unreal 3 look close to CGI in screenshots too. UT3 looked A LOT different in action. After all these years of gaming and ultra pretty screenshots I'm jaded.

is that even english? that said, did you not read the part about these images taking THREE gtx580 cards to process? as of this moment the technology does scale down, but don't expect top tier graphics.

i've played on every single UT3 map. some are a bit cramped but none are unplayable. what made the game not as fun as previous versions was the change from brightly colored foes (which were easy to see) in a reflex-clicking shoot-em-up into a semi-realistic setting where enemy foes blend in with the surroundings more. I have to give epic props for the visuals but the gameplay is what truley counts.

i agree that it will take a long time for this to trickle down to what we actually see... what with all the console porting lately. all companies in the market care about the future of gaming, console porting is just the most viable option right now. why develop soley for a pc platform when it will just be torrented? i've said it once and i'll say it again.. torrents have ruined the industry.
 
Even if it can run on a triple 580 setting, it would be good to be able to run this with only one single gpu graphic card costing less than an arm and a leg.
 
I don't care about how good they can make the graphics, I care about what they do with it. Cookie-cutter console FPS crap doesn't interest me no matter how awesome the graphics are.
 
its coments liek the smoking ones that make me want to start smoking... i wouldn't ... but the only thing more annoying than having wo wade through smoke is the people yellign and bitching about the person smoking...


anyway like the escreenshots it looks excellent wonde rhow the scaling will go and if it'll be able to justify an upgrade from my 2x gts 450's ... maybe to a pair of 570's 😀
 
Why is the image system still broken(I dont call clicking an image 4 times for articles like these with many images). Why isn't the concerned department doing anything - its been this way since forever, man cheapo sites have better interfaces than this; nd now the rating systems broken since more than a month now? Common toms u were better than this; the articles r mostly gud, but th website interface stinks.
 
Perhaps because cigarettes smoke stink... pollute our clothes and our lungs. The issue is the smoke from a cigarette INVADES the space of others. Otherwise, I don't have anything against it. Its the persons problems to burn up $100~200 a month.

Bitching about it in the game... goofy. Its a game.

Then perhaps you could take the time and explain to them what video game pixel world is about, also, should a child be playing such a game to begin with? Sure they're capable, but that doesn't mean they should.

Also, I'd love to see an XBAWX try and do this, though supposedly an iPhone can, but I'm certain we'll know what it'll look like.

Hmmm... let me put it this way about "playable" - in that its ENJOYABLE. In that you don't have a server with 24+ people on a damn ONS/WAR map for 2 hours trying to score. With people screaming "LET THE OThER SIDE WIN! Don'T KILL the Flag carrier!" and people leave the server because they are BORED to death.

Game play (in general) was quite good, the character movement and weapons are quite good. But the lack of VEC Zoom is 100% pure bullcrap on Epics part... and the CODE is in the game. A 16k MOD file re-activates the ability. Its a pure bitch trying to SHOOT someone below you when HALF your screen is sucked up by Cicada or Raptor. Or how about the COOL feature of pulling team-mates with VECs. Wow, it would be GREAT if you could ZOOM out to see if you have TEAM-MATES hanging on. DUH.

Most of the MAPs sucked. They even threw in some BEAUTIFUL remake maps from UT99 & UT2004 classics... but they were not the same. So again... out of 33 total maps of the standard UT3... about 3 or so maps per type (okay, 9 total) are enjoyable. And what happens? The players play the SAME bloody map over and over and over again until everyone is BORED and goes home.

Go ahead... load up UT3, how many active servers are there with REAL humans? Besides the totally Fubars the humans/bots so you may THINK there are humans on the server. So guess what... I play UT2004 more than UT3 because there are PEOPLE playing and the maps are fun... even if the technology is 8 years old!

I stuck with it as much as I can. Added all the patches that eventually made the menu GUI not so much pure console garbage. I've downloaded and converted over 100 UT3 maps (including the titan pack) to my map lists... pretty much ALL of them are easily better than the garbage that came in the box. Some of them are BEAUTIFUL and fun. Like the resort on an island that looks rather Appleseed-ish.

But... there are very very rare active custom-map servers. What is up... the usual standard UT3 crap-map pack. Boring. UT3 is completely and easily fixable. First, fix the problems I outlined. VEC-ZOOM should be on by default, go ahead and put an option to turn it off, nobody would do that.

Get 125~150 of the best custom maps out there and included it on the DVD(s) with the game so people can have fun and get their friends to join, etc. This is how Epic fixed the FAILURE of UT2003. It had bugs, about 35~40 maps and handled rather crappy. Only a few people liked it. When UT2004 came out... WOW, I retired UT99 overnight.

The last time I played UT3 was Dec 2009... it was pretty dead then, and I'm betting its even worse now. 🙁
