Hi Folks

recently i built my new PC with the following components:

ASRock X670E Taichi
AMD 7950X
G.Skill Z5 Neo 2x32GB 6000 MHz @ 30 40 40 40 96
BeQuiet! Pure Power 12M (1200W)
Corsair 7000D Airflow
Arctic Liquid Freezer II 420
Kingston Fury Renegade 2TB M.2
MSI RTX4090 Suprim X (which i'm returning for the second time - meanwhile my old 1080ti is plugged in)

My PSU came with EPS cables that do not fit the provided 2x 8 pin sockets on my MB. One 8 pin fits perfectly, the second cable splits in a way that the shape of one half of the terminal fits, the socket, the other doesn't. Several people told me that this is totally ok since even one 8pin EPS would be more than enough. But i can't shake the feeling that doing it the way i did (plugging the second cable "half" in) is just wrong and could lead to desaster. Can someone here enlighten me about

- if what i did is generally ok?
- if i should unplug the half plugged in cable and leave it at one 8pin plugged in?
- if i could just buy another cable and "plug and play" my way through it all?

I would appreciate any help with this.

When plugging in the second cable that splits, hold the 2 parts together and then push it in. There is no way it doesn't fit.
wait a minute. You're saying that the rounded ones are allowed to be inserted into the square ones? Is this a meme moment? Am i to facepalm myself into another dimension in a minute?

Yes, that's fine. If the cable clip is the same orientation as the first 8 pin cable that you said was successfully plugged in, and the cable fits, it's all good.
