Having trouble setting up this printer attached to a Win98SE PC via network
sharing with my XP PC. I'm at the point where I need to find if it's
compatible with XP. I'm unable to find out in the XP Windows Catalog or on
the Epson website. Does this mean I need a new printer? Millie Koller

The ESC600 is ancient; whilst it's compatible in that it will work under XP
(with the native driver - Epson no longer supports it) the functionality
will be limited (the native driver only offers enough functionality for it
to work - any advanced features you enjoyed under 98 won't be available -
including the status monitor).

If it was me I'd purchase an XP-compatible printer (Canon would be my
choice) and save yourself the hassle.

I'm using the ESC600 just fine with Win XP - just using
the drivers from the Win XP CD - only thing really
missing is the ink monitor.
