I get error 10016 whenever i install google chrome or any other chromium based browser, it is causing my whole computer to crash. This error started after the fall creators update.

Uninstall/reinstall Chrome and see if that fixes it. If not, open an administrative command prompt and issue these two commands:
SFC /scannow
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
If you still have problems, scan for viruses and malware. If all else fails, save your data and reinstall Windows.

I already did everything you said and nothing worked, i even bought a new copy of windows 10 and i get the same error.

Then I suspect that you somehow have a corrupt download of Chrome. Try getting a fresh download.

One other possibility is that you have some extension that's causing the problem. Try disabling all your extensions in Chrome and see if that helps.

That didn't work either.

In my case the error always occurs when starting Google Chrome and other Chromium based browsers. No other apps seem to trigger the error. I have not been able to figure out how to clear the error and have tried everything that I can find that has been posted.

I have these errors right after I upgraded to Windows 10 fall creators update, I will end up just ignoring the errors and not looking at my event viewer anymore. This problem is built into Windows 10, the problem comes straight from Microsoft, and it's been in every version of Windows since version 8 apparently.

I am getting extremely exasperated with Microsoft. The best they can do with this problem apparently is dispatch a few "experts" with a dangerous set of registry modifications that don't even work. This is inexcusable. I am so sick of the many, many bugs in Windows 10, there are just too many bugs, and more introduced via their updates.

All I can tell you is that I have Chrome running with everything from XP to Vista to Win 7 to Win 8 to Win 10 all versions. I have the latest release version of Win 10 on my laptop, and Chrome has worked on every Insider build that MS has released since 10/1/2014. I've never had a problem with Chrome on any of these. Hardware wise I've got a Dell laptop, Dell desktop, HP desktop, and a desktop I built with a Biostar mobo and AMD CPU.
Something about your PC is different obviously, but what that could be is a mystery at this point since you've given no details about it. Maybe you could have modified something somewhere, overclocked, or installed something incompatible with Windows, maybe it's something else. Your problem seems unique because I haven't seen any other reports of similar problems in this or other forums I follow.

I didn't have any issues with Chrome either since Windows XP. Everything started after the fall creators update, and no i haven't modified anything in my computer. I even did a format with new Windows 10. Microsoft stated last month that this error does exist for some users and it should be ignored, so it's not just me.

They're not gonna fix it anytime soon, plus, there isn't any other browser performing as good as Chrome. I'm currently using Firefox and i'm not very happy.

I finally solved this damn error.

Open your Event Viewer and click your 10016 error and click on

Detail Tab

Click the +System in friendly view & copy the GUID number

Go to your Regedit menu bar Edit / Find & search the GUID number

Set the enabled key to Zero 0

Well, I encounted the same problem but failed by this solution. Set the GUID enabled key to zero and reboot, start chrome still add error log from the same GUID. Very strange.
Finally I found another solution in https://www.tenforums.com/general-support/107799-event-id-10016-distributed-com-hardlocking-my-system.html and it works for me.

Right click Google Chrome icon (or exe file)>properties> Compatibility tab> Change settings for all users>choose compatible mode Windows 7>apply>OK>OK.
