Error after driver update

I downloaded the latest drivers for my video card GT555M, and now I'm having issues with my games. Every time I try to load Skyrim I get the message. "Failed to initialize renderer. Unknown error creating renderer." The game was running fine before the update. I don't know what to do. Any help would be very much appreciated.

downgrade to the older driver.

if you remember your old drivers version use those so after you downloaded the older version drivers go to control panel and uninstal your curent drivers, restart and install the older drivers that are known to be working

I tried but then I get the error, "Installation can't continue, driver can't find compatible hardware."

How do I do that? I'm so new to this I feel embarrassed to ask.

Should I uninstall all NVIDIA conpoments that are in the control panel before I proceed? The ones for sound and program software too?
