Welcome to Tom's Forum! :)

Clearly the BIOS is corrupted, this is ASUS's way of telling you to insert the ASUS OEM CD/DVD that came with your MOBO -- part of the ASUS CrashFree BIOS 2 recovery process.

You have (2) choices:
1. Use the ASUS OEM CD/DVD and insert it in the PC's CD/DVD/BR drive
2. Create a NEW CD/DVD with your (file_name.ROM) file - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_754/K8VMX/#download
* (a) To determine the correct (file_name.ROM) ROM file name put in any CD/DVD ; see video.
* (b) Download the latest BIOS (.ROM) file from the link above, unzip (extract) K8VMX211.zip, copy the K8VMX211.ROM file to the desktop, RENAME per (a) above as shown in the video below.
* (c) Burn the CD/DVD with the file_name.ROM

Recovery: Turn-on PC with the NEW CD/DVD <or> ASUS OEM CD/DVD and allow the recovery to complete.

Hi dont know if your still around or not because this was a long time ago and i mean if you still go on this website..

anyways same problem and i am actually going to be using a dvd driver for this but i do not think the motherboard is reading the dvd player because i put the cd in there the one that came with the motherboard and it did not say anything

Mine is an Asus P4P800-X and I burned uselessly one cd 'cause I didn't know of the specific name (which is P4P800-X.ROM) requested and two more 'cause it didn't read the cd continuing to answer 'cd drive not found...' I even try both normal (narrow) and wide hyphen 'cause it wasn't clear in the dos font (but I'm pretty sure it's the normal one) and to move the cd drive in the primary ide socket 'cause I thought that maybe it was the only one read by default...NOTHINIG!!
Of course it doesn't ask for a USB; way too easy..
