Today randomly my graphics card disabled itself and started displaying green, pink, and white horizontal lines and resorted to displaying 800x600 native resolution.
There was error code 43 on the graphics card in the device manager.
I tried uninstalling and used an extensive driver sweep to delete all fragments of the driver. I then reinstalled the driver with fresh drivers from NVIDIA. It installs the drivers just fine but still displays error code 43.
Oddly enough at the same time the USB, network adapter, and lan adapter all had error code 23 where it would not find the drivers
I stuck in the motherboard's own cd and reinstalled the drivers but each time it kept saying it would not detect the drivers even if I pointed directly to the files.
I uninstalled the gfx card and reinstalled. I even used a driver sweep program to remove all fragments of the nvidia display drivers and reinstalled it fresh after completely removing it.
I tried a hard reset and leaving the power off with power chord disconnected for a half hour.
I used Gigabyte's own BIOS utility to reflash the BIOS. I installed the BIOS directly from Gigabyte using @driver utility made by gigabyte and windows would now not boot up. It kept going to windows boot up repair.
I kept following the boot up repair tools it provides to try to get windows to boot again but it would not. I tried system restore and restoring the system image which did not help.
I then booted up in DOS and formatted the hard drive and re-installed windows 7.
Windows 7 loaded properly and it actually found the LAN and USB drivers.
When I try to get into BIOS screen upon boot up i get nothing but a black screen.
It boots just fine to windows however will not detect the driver for the network controller so I can not get on wifi.
Also, Nvidia display adapter is still showing error code 43 so It's still stuck in 800x600 resolution with the same pink/green/white horizontal flashing lines.
Note they did not reappear, they never went away. I had them up the whole time through this troubleshooting process even through windows installation and reformatting.
I tried over a dozen different drivers for the network controller and every time it says it cannot find the driver, even when i manually choose the file location and select the driver.
I also tried driver installer program that will force install the driver. I tried the driver install utilities located on the gigabyte cd with the rest of the component drivers. Everytime- same result.
The NVidia driver seems like it is installing just fine- I do not get install or driver errors it simply displays as error code 43.
I'm at a loss here since I did a fresh wipe of the SSD drive I had windows on. Nothing else but windows was installed on the SSD so nothing could have corrupted it. I don't use the internet on this PC and dont typically download anything ever so it couldnt be a virus or spyware that I installed. Like I said it just happened randomly.
I know reinstalling windows wont help as I did a complete drive reformat.
PC specs are as follows:
core i5 3750 3.5ghz quad core
16 gigs ram
nvidia 650 TI 2gb boost gfx
120 gb SSD
2TB HDD
gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H motherboard
850 watt power supply
3 heavy duty fans and liquid cooled system with push/pull fans.
System never gets close to overheating since its a low power gfx card/MB and I went overkill on the system cooling. It plays any of the latest games on ultra high settings and never gets above luke warm.
the only system errors that come up are the fact that the driver cannot be found for the network controller (error 23) and error code 43 for the gfx card.
It seems no matter what I do this does not change.
Need help I have exhausted my knowledge/resources
