error when installing update KB976570

today I was installing update KB976570 and I got this error: "None of the products that are addressed by this software update are installed on this computer. Click Cancel to exit setup."
That is an update for NET framework 3.0 and I could not install it. I am running windows xp sp2 32bit. Thank you in advance.

The way I read it (on the Microsoft page) the update is for .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2. so maybe your .NET Framework 3.0 is earlier than that? (unless it was an automatic update in which case I'm wrong about that).

It was an automatic update, but I checked which NET framework version I have installed ( in registry editor) and I found only NET framework 2.0, so maybe that is why the update could not install? Why did the windows offered me to install the update, if I do not have NET framework 3.0?
