So I have an Ethernet cable running from my basement to my room and I want to extend it as I am rearranging my room and moving my desk but it will be to much of a hassle to rewire the cable and put in a new one , so I was wondering if there is a way to extend the cable through an adapter of some sort but still keep the same ping and download speed. thanks for the help

No, not really, but also yes at the same time. The longer the cable and the more adapters you include the more problems you will have, but just one may not change anything.

This product will do what you need, and as long as you aren't talking about running another 500 feet of cable or anything, you shouldn't notice any difference.

Yea im not planning to run alot of cable just 5-10 feet. would that cause my download speed to drop and effect ping?

Also is this a good extender as the one linked was too pricey in CAD: https://www.amazon.ca/Ethernet-Cable-Extender-Adapter-Standards/dp/B075F9XB2F/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1538260239&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=Network+Cable+Extender
thanks for the help

The one you linked is fine. It should do the trick. Like I said, if you don't add a bunch of other things, you should be fine and not really notice any change.
