Question Ethernet internet connection randomly freezes every few seconds ?

I use windows 10, my ethernet connection uses a BT broadband extender flex. Every few seconds any internet function freezes for a few seconds : Pages cant load, downloads go to 0 bytes per second but the ethernet symbol on taskbar does change and still shows network connected. Whilst playing games it will either freeze or disconnect depending on the game . Then a few seconds later it reconnects. I have reinstalled windows several times, used different ethernet cables, different extenders, disconnected and reconnected the extenders. What should I do ?

yes that's the adapter, it has worked stably for a few years with connection issues every now and then. The pc is about 25 feet from the router across different floorings and through doors so a long cable would be quite a challenge. The pc doesnt have wifi

It's either powerline adapter dying or PC's ethernet port dying then. The only way to tell is move your PC nearby the router and test if you don't want to use wifi solution (assuming wooden doors)

Or if you have coax in the rooms, then MoCA 2.5 adapters will work great.

25 feet is actually very short. it's just a bit ugly since you might need to route the cable around the corners and ceiling and make it a lot longer. Choose a cable color that can blend into the living environment.
