ethernet not working (Urgent)

so i bought a 25M Cable to connect it to my pc on another floor and the cable is all fine but on my wireless the ethernet thingy flashes on and off and on my pc it keeps going from no connections to finding my cable then continuing like this,any help how to fix this please?

disable the wireless card in device manager, and try again

oh ok, in which case do you have intel gigabit, or Killer E2200?

If you can find your motherboard spec, there will be information as to what type of Ethernet you use, there are two main types, intel, and Killer, if you use killer, drivers are required in order to work, if it is intel, than it is possible it is also driver problems, but is less likely

Have you tested it with another computer? If not, please do so we know what component to focus on.

i did test on a laptop but as i stated on the wirless there are 4 ports of ethernet and for example no. 2 i got the cable plugged in the light just goes on for 1 second and goes off and it keeps going

So when you connected your laptop to the ethernet cable, everything worked okay? But not on your Desktop?

BTW, it's normal for some lights to blink for ethernet traffic on your router. We're more concerned if everything is working correctly and not that the light is blinking per se.

didnt work on the laptop and it dosent flicker the led light on the ethernet it completely goes off then on and vise versa

how did you do the wirelling (colors on the small wires)

I'm pretty sure he's using a prepackaged cable, but I'll leave that up to the OP to confirm
