I bought myself a new motherboard Asus Maximus VIII Ranger, i had installed it yesterday and connected all my other components. I turned on the pc and ran through the BIOS settings and saved everything, i then installed the motherboard disc and installed the drivers. I had restarted my pc and was able to log in and noticed at the back of my pc where i connected the Ethernet cable that the light was blinking, so all was good however i could hear a noise coming from inside like a fan was slightly hitting a wire so i shut it down and opened it up and noticed the CPU fan wire was hitting the CPU fan. So i cable tidied the wire away and turned the unit back on, noise was gone but now the ethernet port in the back isnt flashing when it has a cable inside, when i troubleshoot it says there isnt a cable connected. I have tried the same cable in another pc and it seems to be working fine.
Im thinking i may have to opened it up and take everything out and start again but i would really like to avoid that. Has anyone else experienced something like this?
