Hello, I have been having an issue the past few months, where my internet connection drops out for about 5-10 seconds, and then it comes back, and every time I check the event viewer I get Error code 1014. I have Xfinity, and I pay extra and have very good internet connection speed. I definitely believe there is something wrong with my computer, or at least on the computer side that is causing this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

It is pretty much a worthless error code. It means it can't resolve a DNS name. That could be because there is a actual DNS problem or it could be that the internet itself is going down.

So open a cmd window and leave a constant ping run to 8.8.8.8

This is a google DNS server that almost never goes down. If you get packet loss to this IP then you likely have some issue with your internet connection. You should check you modem log for errors and maybe contact your ISP. If you see no loss but keep getting these error code there likely is some problem with the ISP DNS server or the router caching DNS entries wrong. Manually change the DNS server in your IPV4 settings to 8.8.8.8 and disable IPv6 at the same time.
