I held on to my 1080 through that infamous RTX20xx pricing shambles. Looks like I'll be holding on to it again. Though I could afford to, I ain't buying into this AIB crap. Both AMD and Nvidia badly need to release cards en masse asap at those promised MRSP prices - a pricing thanks solely to AMD. Unfortunately, the AIB's apparently need to feed first, and for some time.

I realize that your getting the cheapest possible price on l33t hardwarez outweighs minor considerations like human rights abuses and security concerns, but others thankfully take a more long-term view.

That is indeed part of it -- printing money obviously causes an increase in M1, the overall monetary supply. For those products whose price is not allowed to freely float, or floats on a delayed basis, that increases demand, and creates scarcity.

Put in simpler terms: how many of the people receiving stimulus checks do you think are spending that money on computer hardware...?
