EVGA P55 SLI E655 mobo, need graphics upgrade

As stated, EVGA P55 SLI E655 mother board. Currently running Nvidia GTS 450 graphics card (3-4 years old) looking for a quality graphics upgrade in the range of ~$250, can go slightly higher if its a crazy upgrade. Your thoughts? Or any other info needed?
