Exact same specs, not nearly the same performance!

Hello, you might just say to end this discussion that yes all computers, even with the same speculations aren't the same but, i have looked on numerous youtube videos with the same exact specs i have and their fps seems in some cases double the fps i get on average...

Specs:

AMD FX-6300
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 667MHz (9-9-9-24) <got this from speccy.. is the ram speed in mhz normal?

MSI 760GM-P34(FX)
GeForce GTX 960 4GB
1TB Western Digital

And this is with any game, you name it: gta 5, rust, far cry 3, and more can barely get to high settings at 720p... this i know is a problem considering the gpu i have and the old games I'm trying to run, and the fact that im running them on a low resolution.. my monitor cant support higher than 1280 x 768 keep in mind. The 960 should be able to handle this im sure, or am i wrong?

^ I wouldn't honestly consider that massively out of the ordinary , apart from those 30fps minimums

You need to check your thermal margins in amd overdrive mate too

I cant see that spec reading bring correct but if you are hitting 70c+ then under a gaming load your CPU is going to throttle big time, those 30fps drops may be down to throttling
667 x3 = 2001? DDR3 means data rate x3. have you overclocked the system any? 2001 is an odd speed.

you should be getting >=60fps at those low resolutions and settings.

if you haven't overclocked the CPU i suggest you do, as high as possible with a good aftermarket cooler.

there's a good chance you have a problem in Windows. maybe infected or needs a reinstall due to OS shell problems.
also, what PSU are you using? if it's not offering enough power it can cause issues also.

Ddr3 is still 'double data rate' so the ram is running at 1333mhz which is a normal speed.

& yes you should get better performance than you are currently - what fps are we actually talking in GTA v ??
Astock 6300 should sit at 40-60fps irregardless of the GPU (& the 960@720p should be capable of high-ultra settings fairly easily)

on the ram use cpu-z read the ram eprom for speed settings. 1600 speed ram uses intel xmp profile to go that fast. if your mb does not have that feature or the amd ram settings the ram is going to default to 1333/667. your mb using chipset that a few years old. the newer 990 had the pci 3.0 on some of the mb. if not pci gpu speed stuck at 2.0. i would make sure the mb has the newest bios and download from amd the newest 700 chipset driver see if anything changes.

Hello... DDR means Double data rate... your memory is @1333 mhz
1) Go into to your Bios' and get your reported CPU speed, Memory speed, and FSB speed.
2) Can you run a WEI test/score on it with your OS and post it?
3) Do you have any Red or yellow marked hardware in your Device manager?
4) Is the NVIDIA app set for performance?
5) Check your OS "Power settings" PCI express, CPU, etc for 100% min/max performance setting.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings-Change advanced power settings.
6) utube "core parking" and disable it in your OS registry.

In addition to the above suggestions

1) Use DDU to completely clean your graphics drivers and reinstall them from fresh.
2) Check your CPU usage at desktop in case something is running that is using system resources
3) Scan your system for Viruses/Malware etc
4) Install AMD overdrive and check that things aren't overheating. If your temps are high you might find your CPU is throttling.

JohnBonhamsGhost - exactly what I meant mate yes.

Just to reiterate - you won't see performance past 40-60fps even if the GPU is theoretically capable of more

Seeing as the op hasn't stated exactly what fps he's actually getting its hard to comment , he may be looking at vids with heavily overclocked CPU's running faster ram - you could push 20fps moreon average with faster memory & a 800mhz overclock.

i have a 600 watt psu

all the games ive listed i get about on average 35-50 fps...

i have recently upgraded my hard drive and installed a fresh windows about a month ago. i dont think os should be a problem..

im on speccy right now and my cpu is around 75 celcius.nothing cerious is happening iam on idle.

min of 30 max of like 60 n average about like 45 fps
