Hi,
I just updated to Windows 10 Creators Update, and I'm noticiding 4GB of 8GB used just after booting up and arriving at the desktop. I used to have only 1.5gb used at startup, is anyone else having this behaviour?

My usage is about normal.

You could run process explorer to see what extra is. Download Process explorer and run it as admin (it comes from Microsoft so its safe)

the default view is tree structure meaning like your task manager screen, it will show what processes are under each service, but unlike task manager, it shows the ram usage of each part so you can see what is eating your ram

Private bytes = actual ram usage
Working set = Ram + page file usage

This page shows what all the colours and headings mean, link at bottom of it shows how to use it to find problems. You can right click services/processes and run an av scan from within the program.

OK, I just installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 creators update from the Microsoft Download Page, and it uses 1.5gb of RAM just at the desktop out of my 8gB.

According to process explorer, the Drivers on the old Creators Update is using about 3GB of Private WOrking Set, whereas the new OS is only using 1gb for its drivers

This baffles me - Why should it have such a difference? THe only thing I can think of is some corrupt driver, but I just updated all my drivers. If this helps:

Intel Core i7-6500U
8GB DDR4 RAM
Intel HD 520
Nvidia GeForce 945M
Samsung PRO 850 500Gb SSD
