Explain SLI Crossfire

ok so I am having a little bit of trouble understanding the whole concept of SLI or Crossfire I know it consists of two or three cards and they have a little connector bridge cable thing that connects them to each other. So which card would you plug the hdmi into ???? how does it work??? also when people do triple monitor setups how do they connect three monitors to one graphics card do they use a hdmi splitter but would that slow down performance. Can someone write an essay for me to explain hahaha dont have to right an essay but just explain thank you

Most cards nowadays have 2 DVI links as well as an HDMI and Displayport link. You just use any combination of the three.

Most higher end/gaming modern Graphic cards have 3 video outputs.

Yes, there is no difference in quality for digital signals- they either work or do not work.
