Hi, everyone! I have a Partition labelled Z and I use it specifically for games (Steam). It is 750 GB and I feel that I require some extra space. Without formatting my PC, can I extend an already existing partition with another HDD (A new one) and use it as unallocated space to extend the existing partition? Can I do that?

Solution

No problem whatsoever. I have 4 locations, spread across 3 drives.

So, will there be any problem with steam while accessing two different hard drives (an existing partition of a hard disk (obviously) and the new hard disk)? I will use the HDD ONLY for Steam Games

Yes I have Windows 8.1 but is it fine to combine multiple HDDs to one combined storage pool. I mean to say, that this is a new feature. Are there any chances of it not working as expected and corrupting my data? And do I have to Format my data on the partition prior to this?

Yup. When you install Game X and it asks you where to put it. The drop down box will contain the old 750 GB drive as the default selection. But you can open the drop box, and select a new Drive/Folder.

Give it a try, it will work fine for ya.
