[SOLVED] External casing for WD60EFRX

My WD My Cloud 6Tb NAS failed (blinking red red). So I properly dismantled it and having realized that this drive is aNAS drive, finding an external NAS enclosure would be expensive. However, if I decide to get an external NAS enclosure , how do I reformat and treat this drive as an NAs drive, or can I get an enclosure and treat this drive like any other external drive without the use of the network port but use wifi instead or just another external drive without NAS. Which of these should I choose.thank you.James

Just install into your pc as a regular internal drive.

Hi. Thanks for responding. I wanted to install as an external drive. And this drive is a NAS WD 6Tb drive. So since it’s WD so, how do I search for this drive on my pic through network or usb thanks James

I wanted to install as an external drive.

First check, if drive is operational by connecting it to a desktop pc internally (with sata cables).
If the drive is ok, then get external USB enclosure. Any USB sata enclosure should be compatible.
