Hello,
I have an Western Digital My Book 4TB external hard drive that I use just to hold videos, pictures etc. but a few days ago it wiped itself seemingly out of nowhere. There was absolutely no data on the drive at all. It wasn't a big deal since I had the files backed up so I went ahead and transferred them back to the 4TB drive. Well I checked it again last night and it had wiped itself again. I just find it odd that the drive is still being seen by my PC, but the data just disappears. I'm not sure if it's just getting old and it's time for a replacement or what.
Additionally I've scanned my PC for any kind of malware that could be related and everything looks clean.
Again, not super critical, but I'd just like to see if anyone might have insight as to why it's doing this before I drop $100 on a new drive.
Thanks in advance!
