Question External HDD Drive file system? Trouble accessing HDD after removing enclosure

I'm having an issue with an old HDD - WDBAAH0015HCH - Western Digital My Book Elite 1,5 Tb.
The old Mini USB just fell off, so I took it apart, took out the HDD - WD15EADS - and connected it directly via SATA.
And it works, except it appears unformattted. Previously, when working inside the enclosure, it was formatted as NTFS.
I'm using sata 3 on a windows 10 64 bits machine.

Why does this happen, and how can I access the old data?

Very often, these externals are encrypted via the enclosure.

Without the enclosure, you're out of luck trying to access the data.

Not without surgery.

The encryption, if that is what it is, is likely keyed via the BIOS chip on the board, or other components of the external case components.

Can you show us the Partitions window in DMDE?

This will tell us whether then drive is encrypted or affected by a 4KB sector translation. There are free DIY solutions in both cases, but we need to identify the problem first.
