[SOLVED] EXTREME slow DL speed, but fast upload speed.

Hey there,

I've just gotten my Omen 30L with RTX 3080 and for some reason, the download speed is extremely slow.

Here's a checklist:

1. I am using a wired connection with cat6 cable
2. The problem wasn't there with my old pc.
3. All drivers are up to date
4. The DL speed is fast on WiFI
5. I removed the antivirus, because I thought that was throttling the speed

After having the pc turned on for about 1 hour, the download speed was suddenly fast for 30 minutes, I decided to restart the pc and then it went slow again.

Speedtest is showing - 0.8 mbps with 99mbps upload speed on wired connection.

Any idea whats wrong or if windows 11 is throttling the network?

Reference Items 1 and 4....

Are you using wired connectivity or wireless connectivity? It appears that you may have both the wired and wireless network adapters enabled at the same time.

Only one, either the wired network adapter or the wireless network adapter, should be enabled at any given time. Not both adapters.

Run "ipconfig /all" (without quotes) via the Command Prompt.

Post the results.

Hi there,

Wireless is now turned off and only wired is enabled. The connection has been normal the entire day and after opening the Omen gaming hub, which comes with the PC, then it turned slow.

I believe that program was the cause for the slow dl speed.

You can probably confirm that via Resource Monitor.

Before you open Omen gaming hub, first open Resource Monitor as Admin

Observe system performance for a few minutes - at least until the system is stable and not doing updates, backups, phoning home, etc..

Then open Omen. Watch what changes when the slowdown occurs.

Another useful tool is Process Explorer (free from Microsoft).
