F1 2002

Gah! Got my hands on this game and happily installed it.
To my dismay something must have gone wrong, it just wont start.
I get an errormessage complaining about "Cube 3D initialization failed"...
First I thought this was an unique error for this game, but then I tried other games
and they either wont start or run very slow.

I checked DirectX (dxdiag) and it says it can´t detect a 3D display adapter (I´m
pretty sure I have one 😉 ).

So does anyone have any clues...perhaps I should add that I did some
massive downloading during the night, maybe some malicious virus
(I did a virus check and it came out clean though) or other
program have sneaked thru and caused some file corruption?

Ideas?

I tried reinstalling graphic and directX, no workie.
(Check new post in Graphiccard section)

Try another graphics card if you have, hate to think it, but card might have toasted itself or something. If that doesnt work, you might be forced to suffer a reformat. God i hope that works if you do it. First make sure your 3d card didnt crap out though, could be a hardware issue.

Only enough money for one game this summer-( thats NWN. Probably pirate WCIII from a friend till i can buy it too in September (damn fine game, i won't rip em off). F1 2002 loses this time, still have F1 2001 and its almost as good as 2002 i think.

Success!, I formated and reinstalled & everything´s working.
Good to know my old card still keeps up, it has to...at least a couple of more months till I get my hands on a Geforce4Ti4200...

Then I am going to lock myself up and play NWN 24/7.
That´s my idea of a good vacation

F1 2002 at max settings heavily taxes the TI4600 already...runs choppy unless you turn down a couple settings one notch (shadows and fog effects)

Tried it, and I think I like it.
I run at 640x480 with all settings maxed out, it runs pretty smooth...but it´s kind of aliased though.

Yea, it would be at that resolution, I run the demo at 1280x1024 which is why its so taxing=) oooooo smoooooth like silk edges at that res in this game, its got gorgeous graphics.
