Have Fabrik Ultimate Backup software on a Windows 10 desktop -- backups stored on Simpletech external hard drive. I can see the backup files in Windows Explorer, but when I click on the Fabrik configuration or the Fabrik Status programs, the software wants me to log in . . . I did not log into their website before, it now appears defunct. Any ideas how I can get the software to read the backups? (Have not used this for several years.)

Solution
Was the original installation a free trial that has since expired.

Does the following link match your software?

https://fabrik-ultimate-backup.software.informer.com/

What version of Fabrik are you currently running?

Website lists two versions: 1.1 and 1.8.

1.1 appears to be downloadable but is dated almost a year later than version 1.8.

You might need to download and reinstall 1.1 and try that.

However, do be sure to test recovery using a test folder containing the files you wish to recover. Not the existing Windows Explorer folder.

Copy files from current location to the Test Folder. Do not use Move or Drag/Drop.

Thanks for your input . . . I too found the 1.1 and 1.8 versions, but I cannot open the program on my computer far enough to see what version I have. However, while continuing to work on the problem, I think I've found another program that will read the backup files, so I'm attempting to restore a test file, see if it works. Think this thread should be closed for now. Thanks again.
