Hi people,

I've got an ASUS laptop with Windows 8.1 installed on it. Next to that, Linux is installed.
Now I want to reset my Windows because it's giving a BSOD with the KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE on it randomly when I'm logged in to Windows.

Question is, can I use factory reset on Windows without affecting Linux in any way?

Thank you very much

There's a good chance you have larger issues to deal with. Resetting Windows will remove any modified boot proceedures unless you made a custom restore image.

As for kernel check error, update all your drivers, update bios, and check for viruses, throw in sfc /scannow after that, and if all those fail attempt a reinstall. Just know that if those prior methods don't work the reinstall isn't likely to help either.
