Fallout New Vegas

Last night I bought the following card:

with the intent to play Fallout New Vegas. I read that the minimum requirements said you need a GeForce 6800 at least. Later I was reading and found people saying you actually need an 8800. Will I actually be able to play the game using this card?

I have an Intel Core2 Duo E6600 on the CPU end. Wondering if I just wasted $35. (Better than wasting $>35 I guess.)

As long as I can get around 30 FPS regularly, I'll be happy. Otherwise (and perhaps even if I can) I will have to start looking into investing into an entire new machine.

What kind of frame rates do you think I can expect?

It's barely playable (one of the best games I ever played though):

a) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsMay89PCEU (read the frame rate and note the RESOLUTION used is 1024x768 so don't use more than this. Don't know the other settings, or how the 8800GS compares to an 8800)

b) The game STUTTERS like crazy. It's horrible and was very, very simple fix the company never made. I did finally fix it but you need to be able to run above 60FPS to use the ifpsclamp=60 fix. And no, none of the other stutter fixes do very much.

Seriously though, it went frame a high-speed annoying stutter to being as smooth as butter (but again it gets all messed up if you fall below 60FPS).

*AIM to get 30FPS if possible.

One 8400GS has 512M of DDR2 memory and a significantly different set of specs.

I guess my biggest irritant is the total lack of what specs the game requires. "GeForce 6 series" doesn't tell a guy jack.

You should probably just send that back. Low end crap like that is really meant as an expander for the amount of video outputs you have, 40 quid could get you a 6670 which is about 10 times faster.

It also costs twice as much. I wouldn't be buying inexpensive stuff if I wanted to throw money at a six year old processor.

To be clear, my budget is $50 max.
