Im looking to put a fan controller in my new case and was wondering if i can use any ole fan or do the fans themselves have to have speed control capabilities. And connection type, does that matter as well or does it all depend on the controller itself?
Thanks in advance

Fan controllers work by changing the voltage supplied to the fan, thus making it slower or faster. So yes it will work with any fan.

Sorry, my Thermaltake case uses proprietary fan controllers. The fans plug into 4-pin headers, PLUS the fan controller, PLUS there's a one-wire lead to a 3-pin motherboard header for speed monitoring. Weird.
