When I turn on the laptop, fan immediately becomes loud and gets louder and louder until laptop turns off. Normaly it takes about a minute for that to happen. Laptop (brand ASUS) is 6 years old. I've allready took whole laptop apart and cleaned dust out of it (also changed thermal paste) , but it didn't help. So obviously fan gets very loud, even though there is nothing to be cooled down.

What could be the cause of the problem here? thanks in advanced

The thermal paste on the CPU may need replacing, the fan may not be making good connection to the CPU, or the fan may not be effecient enough any longer.

eBay usually has laptop parts on the cheap - a replacement fan should be $10 - $20 for most laptops, and thermal paste is about $5 - $15.

I've already changed thermal paste (even did it twice), so i belive that is not a problem.
Is malfunctioning fan common thing in old laptops? Or is it more possible that the problem is more serious matter (like motherboard) ?

The last time i had this problem was due to the vast amount of dust clogged up in the cooler itself. I too cleaned the inside of my laptop but it the fan speed increased and the laptop switched off. Try cleaning inside the cooler as well.
