Hello,

I've just built my girlfriends computer and after pressing the power button, the fans turn white and spin for a second before making a ticking noise then turning off, but then power back on about 2-3 after and everythings fine afterwards, does it on every boot, just not sure why it's doing it or if that's normal?

never had this happen on another PC.

Thanks
Mark

So, not really an issue with the fans per se, but an issue where you are getting an instant restart on first boot?

IF this is the case, try turning off the fast boot options both in your mobo (if it has it) and in Windows.

Hello :D

Yeah I don't think its an issue with the fans, not sure.

The motherboard code does read "40" asus motherboard, which I've read means its coming out of sleep mode or something, its always on 40, probably is something to do with the "fast boot" option.

I heard that does fix the "40" issue.

I'll give the motherboard bios a look later also for the fast boot option, thank you! :)

Thanks
Mark

Quickly just did it, changing the fast boot option in BIOS turned the code to "AA"

but still weird fan issue.

Also tried disabling fast boot option in windows and same result.

Any other possible fixes? :D

Thanks

What does your motherboard documentation say about that code?
With fast boot enabled it reads "40"

"System is waking up from S4 sleep state"

When its disabled it reads "AA"

"System has transitioned into ACPI mode. Interrupt controller is in APIC mode."

Not sure what both of these mean, but yeah :D

Thanks
