I don't care what you say...talk about facts, I don't make idols for myself as you do...they are experts of the field are getting paid by Intel!? it figures...just listen to their literature..destroyed, steamed...these words show they are biased,it figures, don't close your eyes,
so look here and see how fx 8350 nukes i5s
1: http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Crysis-3-PC-235317/Tests/Crysis-3-Test-CPU-Benchmark-1056578/
2: good thing i5 can keep up with 6200 here (according to toms literature) http://www.techspot.com/review/591-medal-of-honor-warfighter-benchmarks/page6.html
3: in this game i3 is as fast i5 3470 so don't waste your money to buy i5, i3 is better, please buy i3, http://www.techspot.com/review/601-black-ops-2-performance/page5.html and about 8350...hmmmm....it's a mistake
RUN AWAY TOMS...LIARS...HOW PATHETIC

That's enough.
Tom's no longer recommends dual-core CPUs, but most of the time the hyperthreaded i3 still does well. Someone getting 55FPS in a game on "very high" settings is not suffering. Of course someone with a bigger budget will want an i5, but for those who do not have the money, the i3 is a perfectly viable choice, especially when you consider how many other games don't yet benefit from four "real" cores.
No more flaming.

you are starting a war here yourself...real cores!!! hey guys real cores, really!? how rude are you!? you are insulting me intel fanboy!!! shame on you, you were supposed to be a moderator!? ok tell me why your real core were in the back foot in crysis 3? why were your real core on the back foot in call of duty black ops 2? why were real cores performing worse in bf3?

I am going to assume you misunderstood. I am not referring to hyperthreaded cores as "real" cores; most games do not yet "need" four real cores, so the hyperthreaded i3 does just fine (vs, for example, a Pentium). I've asked for an impartial review, but rudeness is against the ToS.

my bad really...sorry boss

proper terminology would be physical vs logical cores
an I3 dual core with hyper-threading has two physical cores and two logical cores
an I5 or I7 quadcore has four physical cores
an I7 with hyperthreading has 4 physical and 4 logical cores
the total amount of physical and logical cores equals the amount of processes that the CPU can handle at one time
the issue with hyper-threading logical cores is that they do NOT get the performance of an physical or "real" core
