Far Cry confusion

The Far Cry website recommends Catalyst 3.9. Is this what everyone else is
using for Far Cry?

I finally got the demo to work by turning water effects down to low. If I don't
I get flashing textures. This is w/Cat 4.3, 9800 Pro, 98SE, Barton (o'clocked
to 2346) on a Abit NF7s v2.0.

Personally Im using the latest ATi CATs and running on pretty much maximum
settings and experiencing no problems. Its common that games such as Far
Cry would be tested with the relevant drivers prior to their release, and
its these tested drivers that then become the "recommended" even if better
more stable drivers are later released.

Using 4.4's here on the retail game with no issues. Using an NF7S v2 with a
Sapphire 9600 Pro, an XP2800 (not o/c) and Win XP Pro. I do however have 1
gig pc3200 ram which seems to be very necessary for playable gaming on high
graphic settings (which is what mine is set at). Its more likely to be a
setting on your system (fast writes should be off for example) rather than
the ATI drivers. Cheers, Shaun.

Using 4.3 on AIW 9800SE (pipelines unlocked) under XP on an Intel 875p
chipset board, P4c 3.0Ghz.

No problems at all... Everything up high, looks great.
