Currently the R423 (the PCI-EX 16pipe X880) is NOW slated for late July - August from what I read. Some people are saying more likely late Q3 (which would be August-Sept). Mobos should be appearing first in May-June, followed quickly by the PCI-EX cards. Early reports also have the NV45 ready to go shortly after the NV40. So I'd say 6months is a worst case scenario issue, but then again with all the delays so far, who knows!

Not enough, but some small bits trickling in.

Anandtech had this info of the RS480 (no DX9 onboard DAMN IT!);http://www.anandtech.com/chipsets/showdoc.html?i=2028

Easily the RS480 would be late to market as a Q3 entry. Which isn't surprising as it is new to the AMD market.

SIS has mid Q2 (May/Jun) as their target for the 756 PCI-E solution: http://www.sis.com/products/chipsets/oa/athlon64/756Presentation.pdf

I think alot of them, like the nForce3-250 have support, there's just no need to produce any boards just yet due to no immediate use for them. I just hope it's not a vicious cycle, no mobo because no cards, no cards because no mobo. I'm willing to suffer a cheap radeon or GF PCI card until the card I want arrives. Just gimme a good mobo/cpu/memory solution (hopefully one of the ones with DDR+DDR2).

Damn ATI, they should've somehow integrated the 9800pro onto their mainboard.

I think i'll stick with my sh*tmachine 'til AMD releases Winchester, and ATI releases R500.

Well it was originally supposed to be R9600SE level of performance, not spectacular by any means, but still nice, and would have meant you could have consistent effects on all your monitors should SurroundView really have been ready for prime time. Now if surround view does come out you might find one monitor can't display a certain effect even at low res. which would very distracting IMO. I am also interested in onboard graphics so you can F' around with stuff, and always revert to onboard should you mess things up royally (there have been a few instances where I've had to remember where men bars were and memorize menu options to restore from something), having on-board would be helpful just like DUAL bios (another feature I'm a fan, and user of). Still no info from Gigabyte unfortunately (my favourite choice) about their next gen boards.

Yeah I've already done that once (dual channel/barton era + R9800 series) I don't want to have to wait. I am interested in the R500 and nV's competition, but I think I will buy a new card, and then sell my old one about a month or so before the next gen comes out (about a weeks or so before NDA/PR launch to get the most for it).

I'm willing to wait, but I can't handle waiting much more (waited too freakin' long for Clawhammer to become A64+/FX).

The only reason i hate this Gigabyte board i have is that i can't change the VAGP, and Vcore only goes up to 1.7V

Well do you have a barton? If you do then i'm sure you could wait 'til October, which is when AMD begins production of 90nm Winchester, and probably hit retail channels in december. The 3700+ I believe for Socket939 is the lowest of the 90nm Winchester family, according to Anandtech, clocked at 2.4Ghz, with 512k L2 cache.

Nah, mine's an XP2000+ which I push to 2200+ when I feel the need for a bit of a boost. Not a serious Overclocker. But I do want to get rid of this setup when I can. Not that it hasnt served me well, but dual channel memory and an AMD64 would be nice. I assume the winchester will fit nice and snuggly in my 939 mobo, and maybe I can wait 'til they get great cores and even better prices and stick with the initial fx53-939 while waiting.

It would be nice if your little chip be kind to you and overclocks to 2700+'s speed, but doubt it without some serious vcore.

Yeah I'd need better cooling I think too.
