I currently live overseas where all calls have to be pulse dialed. However,
the access code at my international carrier must be entered by tone, which is
done on voice calls by pulse dialing the carrier and then pressing the "star"
button to switch to tone for the remainder of the call.
I cannot find a way to do this in Fax, even if I enter a "*" into the
sequence of dialed numbers. Is there a way to make the computer generate
tone dialing after pulse dialing on the same call?

Inserting a "T" into the sequence should switch the modem to tone
dialling from the point at which it appears (you would use a "P" to
switch to pulse dialling).
