Feel like r9 390 isn't performing optimal

Hi guys,

I've been loving my pc so far (built it in october) and I am happy with the results, but I feel like my gpu isn't performing maximum out of it. It only performs what it needs to be. Like LoL isn't going higher than 110ish fps, and GTA V isn't going any higher than 60 fps, while LoL could get min. 500fps and GTAV around 80fps. Can you please help me with this? I think that it only performs to the needs for the durability, but I want to fap on my high fps, at least one time before I die.

Specs:
Windows 10
MSi R9 390
Asus Z170 PRO GAMING

1. run the gta benchmark(turn vsync off) and compare it with other people's whom have the same system(cpu/gpu).
2. what is your processor, im not sure but i think LoL is more cpu intensive and upgrading your gpu will not give much of an increase if your limited by your cpu in that game(called a bottleneck).
3. just compare random benchmarks to others and post back.

2) What RESOLUTION are you gaming at?

3) Does GTA V have VSYNC ON?
(would cap to 60FPS on 60Hz monitor)

4) LoL getting only 110FPS seems odd.

Based on what you've said so far I'm suspecting a video driver issue.

(probably a bit BETTER now with driver/game updates)

It's easily possible to stay below 60FPS depending on your settings for GTA5 so you have to find completely comparable benchmarks, so I can't determine how you thought it should be "around 80FPS". However:

*If you monitor your GPU frequency and it's staying high then your card should be working correctly. Not throttling down for some reason.

I think it's the graphics card which is lazy. When it doesn't have to work that hard, it simply doesn't. I don't mind this, but for these single times I want to get horny on those stats :3

Yeah thats not right, you should be getting over 300fps uncapped.

Check Vsync is all switched off? Check power settings are all at max performance
