The picture is not self-explanatory.

What is the requirement? What are you trying to do?

For the most part all that is needed is select the desired/required options and fill in the time/date information using the approprate time/date format and the applicable device MACs.

Add more information and some additional screenshots to show what you are trying to do.

Let’s assume want to block certain MAC one hour from now for three days
  1. I’ve tried all time combinations, didn’t work
  2. Besides there are two text boxes for start and End time each, how to populate?
  3. If the values could be provided for above scenario, I’d appreciate
Thanks

You are able to enter the MAC's - correct?

When the date/time combinations did not work what format was used?

The picture does not show any date fields.

Could be combined date/time. However, I think that that would be readily apparent.

Or dates may be manageable via other tabs....

What make and model device is the picture from?

There may be a User Guide/Manual with showing examples and the required date/time formats.

I think, I got the answer, let me implement, will revert back after thorough testing on couple of devices

Test as necessary.

I expect that the difficult part will be the scheduling requirement;

I.e., Start blocking at time/date X and block until time/date Y.

Would not expect that level of management control in consumer end products vs commerical products.

Just test and post as necessary regarding what works and what does not work.

Remember to include additional screenshots if and as necessary.

There may be other ideas and sugggestions posted thereafter.

I’m home user and want to learn various networking aspects – not limited to mentioned question only

This model is for SME, ISP gave on special request where I promised won’t bother for configuration issue(s)

Warm regards

You also need to keep in mind that MAC address filtering is trivial to bypass. Trivial in that it takes less time to bypass than it does to set up the filter in the first place.
I understand setting MAC filter is tedious, and can easily be bypassed, still I’d give it a shot

Warm regards

It seem the router you have does not allow you to set the rule to only last 3 days.

It is a very simple block everyday for certain periods of time. There is no ability to put in dates or do something like block on all weekends for certain hour and different hour on weekdays. A true firewall could do that.

Basically firewall features in home routers are mostly for show. They have almost no ability that a true firewall has. There are third party router firmware that loads on some small subset of routers that have many more features.

Also be aware mac filtering mostly no longer works. It is very common for phones to change the mac address everytime they connect to wifi. Not sure if this was because of hackers or it was because companies were collecting mac addresses when people collected to their hot spots.
