File download & installation error?

Is there a caching of files downloaded?

The reason I ask is that I've had problems downloading & installing a
program. The error received on the installation reads as follows:

"Setup decompression failed, possible download error. Please download
the file again or contact your system administrator."

I've attempted to download again several times over time, however I
still get the same error. I've had no other problems downloading files
& installing them. So my thought was the file is cached and subsequent
downloads in essence are the original file. The only reason I say this
is due to the time on subsequent downloads. Subsequent downloads seem
to go much faster than the original, hence the question.

Did you tell it where to download? Did a message box show on the screen
while downloading indicating where it would be saved?

Delete the temporary internet files. In Internet Explorer click on
Tools | Internet Options | Delete Files | tic mark Delete all offline
content | Ok.

Delete the contents of the temp folders:
C:\Documents and Settings\<Username>\Local Settings\Temp
C:\WINDOWS\Temp

Best to do that right after a fresh reboot.
