Question File explorer slows down when attaching files

So my friend just told me his pc takes about a minute to navigate through each folder in file explorer when attaching a file from any sort of program (chrome, whatsapp etc.), but when he uses the explorer alone it works completely fine. We have no idea why this happens. Tips?

Can you tell us since when your friend is facing the issue and what his computer specs.

It could be almost an infinite possible reasons for that. The shortlist is:

• Malware (virus, spyware, rootkit, etc)
• Some drivers is malfunction
• Some installed software doesn't work properly, or incompatible with something else.
• There is two antivirus programs running simoultaneously, fighting off each other.
• some hardware fault.

USe explorer++, the best I have come across. Microsoft should pll their act together
