For some reason, certain file names in the My Documents folder appear as
blue. I can see no pattern. Some files are old, some new. Some are docs, some
..exe's, some JPEGs. Anyone know?

Hi

They are compressed files. Have a look in Help and Support for info. on

Those are compressed files that became compressed when you did a clean up
and had "compress old files" ticked. Personally, I don't compress anything
and if you want to uncompress the files, right click on them and go to
properties and untick where appropriate. You can also do a Ctrl A and un
compress a bunch at once and it might take some time.

Thanks! That cleared it up. I figured it was something simple.
