Hey guys, I had another thread floating around earlier (mods, feel free to close it) that was basically me brainstorming ideas. I'm just about ready to buy and the money I saved is going to leave me room to pick up a lenovo x220 as well! Here's the build:
Case and PSU (combo) - COOLER MASTER HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP Black Steel + Plastic and Mesh Bezel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case and COOLER MASTER GX Series RS650-ACAAE3-US 650W ATX12V v2.31 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply - $144.97 before a $25 rebate
CPU - Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor combo with CD/DVD drive - $225.98
GPU - EVGA 01G-P3-1561-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - $229.99 before a $25 rebate
MOBO - ASUS P8Z68-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard - $209.99
RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - $74.99
SSD - OCZ Agility 3 AGT3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" 120GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive - $219.99 before a $20 rebate
HDD - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - $89.99
Final price: $1,195.90 ($1,125.90 after rebates and shipping)
I'll be building this with a buddy of mine and we're going to water cool it (not so much for extreme OC purposes, just because it'll be a lot of fun to put together and should give the system some longevity), so that's why there is no CPU cooler included in the price. Anyway, if anyone sees some glaring faults with the build (overpriced parts, non-compatible parts, etc) I'd really appreciate the input before I buy! Thanks in advance for everyone's help!
