FingerPrint reader

Hello,

I don't find a newsgroup for fingerprint reader, I'll try here.

I just bought Microsoft USB fingerprint reader. It works fine in my laptop.
But when I connect it to my desktop at work I can't login on it ( PC
connected with Windows 2003) , I can only logon manually, I can use the
reader in the web. One last thing, I can't use it to login into a remote
connection.

I believe it is a software issue. But I don't know if I have to buy
additional software? And I don't know if it will be compatible? I did not
find any information at Microsoft website.

Any advices will be appreciated.

Thanks

XP007

Microsoft is usually "good" in providing updated drivers. However, Windows
2003 is a "server grade" Windows and I do not know if the reader has Windows
2003 drivers.

When you cut your finger, how will you access your computer?

That's why God gave us so many fingers. Surely we won't cut all of them :)

Yves, read more carefully. His work PC is not running Windows 2003
Server - it's a workstation that seems to be running on a 2003 Domain.
He never mentions, not even once, what OS the workstation uses.

Don't give advice when you don't know what you are doing.

:)

Maybe you can use voice reader (Recognition)... Unless you lose you voice :

Anyway you have allways the classic choice "keyboard" beside the fingerprint
reader
