I have an old 755 with E8400 CPU, 8gb ram, and and Hd6570 . Any reason why a firepro V3900 wouldn't work in this configuration and run solidworks 2014 as well as 3dvia Composer? The primary reason is for learning both pieces of software via instructional videos and exercises. I will have the licensing next week to try it on the machine as configured, but im sure the hd6570 wont keep up. I reviewed the benchmarking on this topic but never found threads regarding the 755 and this scenario. Thanks in advance

This is kinda interesting ...

If you have the 1GB GDDR5 Radeon HD6570, you may be able to 'script' it into a FirePro V4900 to run the pro drivers (It's been awhile since I've attempted to mod an ATI/AMD desktop into a pro card). There are multiple threads at Guru3D with instructions on these mods. Many times it comes down to the OS you are running

It would have twice the memory bandwidth of the V3900 -- which I believe has DDR3.

AND ... even if you have the DDR3 HD6570, Toms rides to the rescue with a mod to the V3900

Yea, Toms !! :bounce:

The HD6570 I have is a DDR3, and from what I read, the mod you referred to was unsuccessful. Ultimately, I dont mind spending the hundred bucks for the V3900 if it will meet my requirements.
