Firewall issues with online gaming

Every time I try to play online games, a screen pops up ans states the following; "Internal IP address is different than its external IP address. This maybe caused by firewalls, a NAT proxies, or other unusual network configurations and may prevent you from hosting a game". Even though I skip pass this screen and launch the online game, I still can't connect to the online game server or I get knocked off. Currently I am using Windows XP Home version and Dell TrueMobil Wireless Router w/ built in firewall. THe firewall in XP is not in use at the time of the contuined error. Any ideas??? Thanks!!

You have to find out which port your game uses, and then forward them to your computer.

Using Gamespy huh? You're most likely SOL, just like me. I can only join games, not host, because of this same thing. You have to mask your computer's IP to be the same as your external IP. Try using the MAC address. Talk to Dell to get help on how to do this.

You're going to find, in any case, that there is going to be increased lag because your running a wireless network. If not, then at the least increased ping times. Oh well.
